Dr. Hailey Prohaska is from Platteville, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Illinois – College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 with her DVM degree. Hailey has always wanted to be a veterinarian! Her love for cows stemmed from being on her aunt and uncle’s dairy farm and listening to her great grandma’s farm stories. Prior to veterinary school, she went to Luther College and majored in biology and minored in philosophy. Hailey worked in West Salem, Wisconsin, for a year as a mixed large and small animal veterinarian prior to moving to Evansville in 2020. Hailey truly enjoys the variety that comes with mixed practice! You will see her both in the clinic working with cats and dogs and out on the farm with cows, pigs, and small ruminants. She also enjoys doing potbelly pig hoof trims even though many of them are sassy!
Hailey enjoys camping, gardening, being outside, hanging out with guinea pigs, aerial arts dance, drinking coffee, and hanging out with her sister, niece, and nephew. Her dog Milo is a kind of naked (depending on the season) lab mix that she adopted as a stray. He will sometimes be seen tagging along on farm calls or snoozing or barking in the vet truck. She also has a parakeet named Jade, and a sensory deficit guinea pig with a permanent head tilt named Cookie.
