Dr. Stephanie Kvalheim earned her DVM from the University of Wisconsin – School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, and began working for Evansville Veterinary Service that same year. She has been a partner-owner of the practice since 2013. Dr. Kvalheim lives on a hobby farm just outside of Evansville with her husband and two young boys. Their animal family includes housecat Alibi, barn cats Dennis and Darryl, and a flock of ten chickens (Stephanie’s favorite is “Red,” an elderly Barred Rock hen who free ranges in warm weather.) She has been a lifelong equestrian but is currently without horses after saying goodbye to her geriatric companions Dinah and Charlie. Stephanie is happiest canoeing or kayaking with her family and enjoys camping, boating, photography, reading, board games, yard games, and perfecting favorite recipes (sourdough, from-scratch pizza, fancy breakfast, and tacos are specialties at “Cafe Sweetest Chefanie.”) Professionally, she enjoys the variety of mixed animal practice. While it often means feeling like a “jack of all trades, master of nothing,” it also brings the joy and honor of serving as the animal family doctor to many clients.
